Welcome to Paradise

Mayukuyuku Camp has an extraordinarily beautiful location on the wide and game-rich Kafue River, within Zambia’s biggest Nature Reserve, the Kafue National Park.

The Kafue is well known for it’s extremely diverse variety of terrain, wildlife and birds, probably second only to Serengeti, and is still fairly unexplored to this day. Four of the Big Five are here, plus Cheetah, Wild Dog, and over 450 species of birds. You are unlikely to see many other people or vehicles which gives a sensation of having a private safari. The animals are sometimes more elusive than in other more commercialized parks, but this makes your sightings all the more special.

Mayukuyuku is a small, very well appointed Bush Camp with 4 Luxury Safari Tents, en suite with thatched roof and private verndah overlooking the River.

Walking trails, open vehicle game drives, night drives and boating excursions on the river offer ample opportunity to explore the area and observe the incredible diversity of wildlife and birdlife, the symbiosis of species, and the raw, pulsating way of the wild.

The Camp is just 250 km from the capital city of Lusaka, an easy four hour drive.

Our location means we can meet the needs of both international and local visitors whether they have transport or not. We are open and accessible twelve months of the year.

Mayukuyuku is the ideal place to break a journey if travelling Westwards to the Barotse Plains, Liuwa National Park, or to the famous Kuomboka Ceremony near Mongu.

The Camp is only 8 kms off the main road that dissects the Park.

The Camp lies on the Southern edge of the Northern sector of the Park.

It is ideally located to access both the North and South Kafue to such places as The Busanga or Nanzhila Plains.
